by Eduardo RivadaviaHailing from The Hague, in The Netherlands, Nox was formed circa 2003 by vocalist Seth Van De Loo, guitarist Rob Oorthuis (ex-Centurian), bassist Patrick Boleij (ex-Pyaemia), and drummer Bob Dussel, who pooled their collective interests in the occult, death and black metal into a ferocious style reminiscent of Poland's Behemoth. 2007 saw the release of their debut album, Ixaxaar, through Earache Records' Wicked World imprint, and Niels Adams replaced Van De Loo shortly after the album's recording.
