The whole thing was still and quiet and beautiful

You were just about to be born

I praid they would get me home

So the light of dawn came it was wonderful

The sky the smell of herbs

Coming from the shore

They arrived they circled round and fired

The bomb landed right on the stirn

Bless our ship our ocean home

The ship turned over upside down

Some of us got tangled and were drowned

I was crystal clear in my mind

A very bright light and the ones I loved

Bless the ones we leave behind

I just found myself crying

Another of our boats arrived to pick us all

The whole of the sea covered in oil

Then the captain had to decide

To risk the ship or to leave some aside
