A texan lady came to town

And thus begins my story

She drew a hand with the best in town

Which proved to be her glory

But now the game has ended

The king has had his day

A woman's cause defended

And soon you'll hear them say

She did a man's job

But there was no doubt

She was a texas lady

One day the sky was hazy

Folks worthy and lazy

Came a texas lady

To town to town

She smiled in all her splendor

Gave her hands so tender

Maybe god had sent her

Her heart was filled with yearning

For dreams to start anew

Love with hope returned
