The Aikiu is a french pop band from Paris influenced by new wave and electronic music. Formed by Alex Aikiu (lead vocals), Julien Vichnievsky (keyboards) and Barnabé Nuytten (bass), the band recently welcomed Nuno Cordeiro (guitar) and Tatiana Mladenovitch (drums). The Aikiu will release its 1st album in 2012, after 2 EP ("Just can’t sleep" and "The red kiss") produced by Pilooski (Discodeïne) and... released on the label “Abracada”. This album co-arranged with Pilooski and produced by Guillaume Brière (The Shoes), delivers sheer rock energy and vintage keyboards along with very intimate lyrics. The melody and the voice support a delicate and edgy songwriting, where emotion and attitude are in perfect harmony. Their songs are like musical Polaroid pictures, pop declarations and timeless treasures, modern and old fashioned at the same time.
