Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he became a pupil of the pianist Ines Gomez Carrillo. He followed piano studies at the Juan Jose Castro Conservatory, graduating in 1997 as “Superior Piano Professor”. 　　Alejandro Petrasso took part in several projects as a composer, arranger and improviser. He has been collaborating with theatre and dance companies such as ZOO Thomas Hauert Dance Company and Random Scream Company, Brussels. He signs the transcriptions of several tangos for piano solo and different ensemble settings and, in 2010, he has performed in duo with Martha Argerich two of his tangos arranged for two pianos and some other arrangements of his own for piano trio in Salle Pleyel, Paris, at the Piano Festival La Roque de Anthéron in France and recently in the Tuscan Sun Festival, Italy and Palais des Beaux Arts de Brussels.
