Washington, D.C.'s Capital Kings are a Christian duo known for their dynamic, electronic-based, dance-oriented pop. Formed in 2010, the group originally featured DJ, producer, and rapper Cole Walowac and singer Jon White. Life-long friends, the musicians met in a church nursery and started playing music together as kids. They gained notice in 2012 with a series of remixes for fellow Christian artists tobyMac (including "ShowStopper" and "Me Without You"), Britt Nicole ("Amazing Life"), Mandisa ("Good Morning"), and Group 1 Crew ("His Kind of Love"). By the end of that year, they released an EP, I Feel So Alive, and also made two contributions to the Gotee label's Christmas compilation 'Tis the Season to Be Gotee Too. Their self-titled debut album followed in January 2013 and entered Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart at number five. In 2015, Capital Kings returned with their sophomore album, II, which featured appearances from singer Chris Tomlin, as well as rappers KB and tobyMac. As with their debut, the album fared well, peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and reaching number three on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. By 2016, White had left the group and was replaced by singer Dylan Housewright. Housewright made his recorded debut with the band on the non-album single "I Can't Quit," which also featured a guest appearance by rapper Reconcile. A second non-album single, "Love Is on Our Side," appeared in 2017. ~ Andy Kellman
