Even at the age of 14, Major Myjah is a solid force in the music and entertainment industries. He says it best, "My name is Myjah and I'm Major.” He's a singer, songwriter, rapper and guitar player. His lyrics, "I want to be with you, cause you shine in the dark" seem mature coming from the pen of a child but that is standard for this rising teen star. With musical influences like The Beatles, Bob Marley, Eminem and John Mayer, it's natural for Major Myjah to bring forth lyrics that are beyond his years. In fact, the first song he ever sang freestyle was so deep that Reggae legend Freddie McGregor instantly gave him his moniker, "Major Myjah" when he was a wee four years old. Currently, there is a strong buzz in the music industry about Major Myjah, and many producers and record labels are showing an interest in this artist whose international pop rock style is reminiscent of a fusion of John Mayer and B.O.B with a Caribbean swag. He placed 2nd overall out of hundreds of talent in The Los Angeles Music Network’s talent competition, LAMN JAM that was sponsored by the Nat'l Assoc. for Recording Industry Professionals (NARIP). Major Myjah received rave reviews from the industry panel of judges. He also had an impressive finish in Majors and Minors, Hub TV’s new singing talent show for minors. Myjah is very ambitious and serious about his future in the entertainment industry. He has been cast in several feature and independent films and commercials, where his work ethic and raw talent wins him the praise of directors. This rising superstar has practically been singing and writing since he uttered his first words. Now an eighth grader, MJ, as he prefers to be called by his peers, has several original self-penned songs in his repertoire and has done songwriting sessions with successful songwriters Mandi Perkins and Charles Harris. He’s also been produced by, Grammy winning Producer, Tony Kelly. MJ also has a must-see music video for his single, "My Sunshine" that was directed by well-known director Jay Will. The response to this single has been unexpectedly great. Even with just a soft release on YouTube, MJ garnered a huge fan base in Miami, Los Angeles and Israel. MJ loves to sing, rap and play video games. He has so much energy that his family enrolled him in basketball to burn some of it off, but this true music lover prefers to spend time burning up his guitar, a fact which is evident by the extent of his catalog of original music.
