Matthew Steeper is a Canadian singer-songwriter and producer focusing on dance and pop music based in Los Angeles.
Growing up in Europe, Matthew was exposed to European dance music giants like Tiesto and Armin, and was inspired to begin creating electronic music at the age of 12. After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2010, he moved to New York City where he soon began some high profile work in dance music such as an inspired collaboration, "Higher" with dance legend, Paul Oakenfold.
In 2012 he saw his first major release as a featured artist with Project 46 "No One," which became a Beatport Top 10 hit. This led to him to creatively oversee Project 46’s debut album, "Beautiful" on Ultra Records, which included a Grammy-nominated collaboration, "Last Chance" with Kaskade. Matthew also worked with Republic Records’ artist, Blind Scuba Divers, whose co-written track with Matthew, "Models and Bottles" was featured in the summer blockbuster, 22 Jump Street, and the official soundtrack, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Dance charts.
In 2015, Matthew combined his EDM top-lining edge with his pop talents to release his first radio smash "Come Alive" with Adam K. The song broke the Canadian Billboard Emerging Artist top 20 chart and charted in the CHR Top40 airplay chart for six straight weeks. By the end of the year, Matthew saw over a dozen new label releases including another radio single, "Open Your Eyes" on Universal with Club Banditz that climbed to #5 on Portuguese top 40 radio. He closed the year signing a major publishing deal with Spinnin' Record's publishing affiliate, MusicAllStars/Sony ATV.
Matthew continues to embark on an exciting journey as a singer-songwriter expanding his discography to include collaborations with Tom Swoon, Chuckie, Darren Styles, First State, Slander and many more top electronic dance music artists. As 2016 takes flight, he has already launched the year with a bang, with his genre-setting feature duet and collaboration, "Breathe" with HALIENE, Slander and Adam K reaching 1 million Soundcloud plays in its first month alone.
