Elin Kolev was born on 17 December 1996 in Germany. He began his musical education on the violin at the age of 5 at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in the City of Zwickau. In 2006 he was admitted as an exceptionally gifted young student to the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy to study with Professor Carolin Widmann. Additionally, Elin studied master courses under Professors Dr. Friedemann Eichhorn, Thomas Brandis, Reiner Kussmaul and Igor Ozim.
Since 2010 Elin has studied as a gifted young student at the University for Music in Karlsruhe under Professor Josef Rissin.
When he was only eight years old Elin had his debut as a soloist with the Vogtland Philharmoic Orchestra Greiz - Reichenbach at the event Classics under the Stars. Here he inspired over 5,000 spectators. He gave many concerts playing in the Saxon area as well as in Brandenburg, Bavaria, Thuringia, Baden –Württemberg, Italy and Austria. In April und May of 2009 Elin next was off on his first US Tour through Virginia, New York, North Dakota und Arkansas. To promote his career he received his first master instrument of the NewStrad – family. At the age of 12 years the Violinist from Zwickau had his debut in New York’s Carnegie Hall. Outside of the concert halls Elin’s open-mindedness and his serious but unconventional demeanor have been presented on countless TV networks such as, RTL, ARD, MDR, Deutsche Welle TV Euromaxx, ZDF. He also participated in the ZDF Charity Gala Ein Herz für Kinder, among others. To date Elin has also worked together with conductors such including Stefan Fraas, Georg Christoph Sandmann, Jirí Malát, Daniel Lipton und Pavel Baleff.
