Victor Comforte A.K.A. DJ Torio is a DJ, Producer and Song writer based out of Chicago Illinois. His stage name is the Italian translation of his name Vittorio shortend. DJ Torio got his start in music at the age of 9 playing Drums in the middle school band. A year later he would pick up a guitar, which became his main focus at that point of his life. After years of guitar lessons he would form a Rock band at age 14 which featured Victor as the Lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player. He taught himself how to play the piano and bass guitar and would write all of the songs for this band. At age 17 Torio walked away from music but this would only last for a matter of time. His true calling was music and at age 24 he began to DJ, mixing Electro House Tracks by local DJ/Producers Such as Steve Smooth, Billy The Kid and Mixin Marc who influenced his love of Electronic Music. He spent allot of time listening to B96 Mix Masters, Mixin Marc & Billy The Kid play there mixes on the local radio station 96.3 FM. After a year and a half of Mixing music in local clubs and bars Torio began to take interest in creating his own beats. It was then that he began working with life long friend and fellow Producer Joe Christofano A.K.A. Joey C. The 1st time they met, it was obvious to both of them that they had something going that could be more then just a hobby. They produced their 1st song, an instrumental called Polaris and released it on Soundcloud.com 2 weeks later with mostly positive reviews from local veteran DJ Producers. They started to meet more often and have produced and remixed over 30 finished tracks to date with several being released on Blinded Records Movement Music and other electronic music labels. Official Releases of note on iTunes and Beatport.com include How It Goes, Veritas and Fade Away to name a few. In the spring of 2011 Movement Music noticed the potential of the duo and released there track How It Goes, A vocal track featuring new comer, female vocalist Nikki K. The EP includes remixes by Chicago heavy weight Producers Mixin Marc & Tony Svedja, Alex Peace and Kalendr. In November of 2011 Blinded Records released there Progressive Banger Veritas featuring East Coast remixers of equal acclaim such as Osheen and Art Beatz as well as Chicago’s B96 Mix Master Bill Basil. Torio’s next bit of success came in Febuary of 2012 with the release of Fade Away which was another collaboration of the duo with Nikki Kay. Fade Away which sat on the Top 20 charts of Kings Of Spins for 2 weeks toped out at number 4 sharing the charts with the likes of Robbie Rivera, Erik Morillo, Serge Devant, Disco Fries and Ultra Nate to name a few. His biggest success however came by way of collaboration with local idol Steve Smooth and child hood freind Joey C. There song Be Without You which was released on Ultra Records hit #20 on Beatport.com, remaining on the charts for 3 consecutive weeks. While making music takes over much of his time, there has to be time made to rock the crowd. Playing a variety of music formats, from House to Hip Hop and everything in between has allowed Torio to grow in popularity as one of Chicago’s Top DJ’s. He has mixed and held residencies at the top clubs in Chicago including Board Room, Spy Bar, Manor, Crescendo, NV Penthouse, Bon V, Crimson Lounge, Enclave, Stay, Y Bar, Bull & Bear, Teaze Lounge, Sound Bar, Vertigo, Proof, V Live, J Bar, Stone Lotus, Griffin Lounge, Nikki, 858, Lumen, Hard Rock Cafe and The Mid. Torio has acquired multiple residencies in down town Chicago where he promotes his sounds to thousands of people every week. His current weekly Residencies include The Mid, Vertigo, Enclave and V Live. He has opened for superstar DJ’s and Performers such as Pete Tong, Adrian Lux, Cazzette, Benny Benassi, Nervo, The EC Twins, Serge Devant, Oscar G, The Manufactured Superstars, Lee Dagger of Bimbo Jones, Haley, Dev, Outasight, Havana Brown, The Devil From Acapulco, Natalia Kills, Lil Jon, Mickey Avalon, Usher, Matt Darey, Tommy Trash, Clockwork, Zedd, Ken Loi, Eva Simmons, Nari & Milani, Clinton Sparks, Lil Wayne, Wale, Nadia Ali, Michael Woods, Laserman, Mix Maseter Mike, Travis Barker and many more. As a life long resident of the birthplace of House Music, Torio has deep roots in the electronic music scene and is eager to continue to spread the Chicago sound while implementing his own taste and style through his upcoming productions and live DJ shows both locally and nation wide.
