Portland signed their first EP shortly following the release of their first song “You Don’t Know Me”. The video quickly reached more than 1 million views on Youtube – unheard of for a group not yet broadcast on the radio and with only a local following. Rooted in high-strung subversive electro-pop, similar to the sounds of M83 or Cut Copy, the members of the band do not deny strong childhood influences such as the virgin-like Madonna or the Prince of “Cream”. Their upcoming twelve track album features a mix of influences from the Chromatics to our fellow Frenchies Phoenix with a decidedly 80’s flavor. Like the city which gave them their name, the band is unconventional. Portland, renowned for the quality of its artistic movements and alternative culture remains “the only place on earth where artists think that music can still change the world."
