Hello, my name is Dan Bremnes, and I love music!
I love hearing it, writing it, performing it, arranging it, and recording it.
Ever since I was 5 years old I would watch musicians on stage and dream of doing the same thing. When I was 10 years old I started learning the drums and playing regularly at church. I later had the privilege of playing drums for artists, 'Heather Clark' and “Greg Sczebel” for a total of 4 years each.
My passion for writing developed when I was around 12 years old when I learned how to play guitar. I would hear a song on the radio and think “I would love to do that!” So I would experiment with chords and melodies. Hooks would just kind of pop out! So I learned how to build these hooks into songs. When I was in grade 11 I recorded a 3 song demo, and with it won a competition to play at the 'Van's Warped Tour' in Calgary, AB. It was a great experience and an encouragement in writing/recording.
A lot of my experience in music comes from my involment in our local church 'Living Waters Church' In Salmon Arm, BC. My father planted the church in 1989, and I have been on the worship team since I was 12 playing drums. When I was 16 I started leading worship and have been leading there now for 10 years. I've had the privilege of travelling around Canada, USA, Asia, Australia, and parts of Europe playing drums for artists and leading worship for events, teen camps, and conferences. A few of the worship songs I have written including my most current single 'your strength' was written for our church in Salmon Arm.
Last year I recorded two different projects. One was a three song worship EP called 'Beautiful.' The other was a 5 song EP called 'This Life' recorded at 'Armoury Studios' in Vancouver, BC. Both projects received radio play around Canada and one of the songs 'You Are' placed 3rd in the 'International Songwriting Competition'
Most recently I've been finishing up my first full length album set to be released summer of 2010. We will be hitting the road early July for a cross Canada tour. Hope to see you out there!
