BB Diamond is a pop-house vocalist hailing from Essex, England. Known for her eclectic and varied pop-house crossover style, she first began her career in the entertainment industry performing backing vocals for artists such as Katy B, Jess Glynne, and Clean Bandit. She became involved with the scene whilst living and studying in London, establishing friendships with various other musicians. One such friend was a keyboard player for Katy B and when it was revealed that the R&B singer required backing vocalists for live performances, she decided to put her name forward. The move was a good one, paving the way for more opportunities, leading to a backing vocal audition for Jess Glynne, ultimately resulting in a yearlong tour with the R&B powerhouse. Her vocal talents soon caught the attention of the Turn First management team (responsible for developing artists such as Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora), and she soon got to work on her own material. Inspired by the great artists who dominated her childhood listening, such as Michael Jackson and Coolio, she began to pen her own songs, with captivating house beats and resolute, soulful vocals. She then began to garner more widespread attention, primarily through the BBC Music Introducing platform in 2016. Her first track, "Instinct," received praise for its unique myriad of popular styles. She saw more collaborative success, having contributed vocals to the track "Gone Missing" by English DJ Shift K3y. During the fall of 2016 she delivered her second single, "Feeling," which picked up comparisons to the work of Rihanna. The young vocalist got to work on her debut full-length later that year alongside performing nationwide.
