Paoletta Marrocu studied voice at the Conservatorio di Musica in Cagliari with Lucia Cappellino and polished her technique with Renata Scotto. In 1990, prior to completing her studies, she won various prizes at prestigious international competitions.
Her vast repertoire includes roles such as Orfeo, Norma, Lucrezia Borgia, Aida, Alzira, Giovanna D’Arco, Carmen, La Wally, Fedora, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, Suor Angelica, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, and the principal soprano roles in Il Turco in Italia, Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito, Nabucco, Macbeth, I Vespri siciliani, Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera, Il Trovatore, Falstaff, Mefistofele, La Fanciulla del West, Il Tabarro, Andrea Chénier, Cavalleria rusticana.
