Jacques Terre'Blanche is best known as a finalist on the second season of the Idols in 2003. Terre'Blanche started voice training as a 15-year-old boy soprano, moving on to studying classical music and jazz at UCT , majoring in voice. It was during his studies that Jacques was encouraged to enter the Idols 2003 competition where he grabbed the attention of many South Africans. Coming third in the competition didn't stop Jacques from using what he calls his "stepping stone" into the South African music industry. Jacques recorded his first album, "EQ" with Dave Thompson and the Sony BMG Team, producing a jazz-influenced album which was released in October 2004. His single "Endlessly" was nominated for a SAMA Award and in the same year was awarded the Crystal Award in the category Best Male Newcomer – music/stage/screen.
