Tariq was born and raised in Houston, TX . He began singing at the age of 5 and joined a group of talented young men " The Singing Boy's Of Houston" founded in Houston, TX, that trained him in classical music and sight reading. He also participated as a vocalist in the first Houston Light Show with European artist Jean Michele Jarr.Tariq attended Johnson Middle School in Houston, TX, a school for gifted and young musicians. He expanded his musician by joining the middle school band where he began to learn to play the tuba. Tariq's seventh grade year he joined the youth choir of his church "The Chosen Generation" of Windsor Village United Methodist Church. During his high school years he joined the varsity choir and entered many contests for sight reading and placed second in his school district. Upon his graduation he received several UIL Awards for his vocal ability and musicianship..Upon his graduation from high school, Tariq was excepted in Texas Southern University as a vocal major and minored in business administration. He was trained vocally and performed numerous of broad way shows such as Fiddler On The Roof, Phantom Of The Opera, and Les Miserables. He also marched for 3 years in the Texas Southern University "Ocean Of Soul" .Tariq relocated to Atlanta, GA where he was able to further his music career. Upon his relocation he sung with and was trained by Keisha Jackson, daughter of Millie Jackson. He recorded his first album titled "Waiting For You" while still maintaining a busy work schedule. He then joined New Beginning Full Gospel Church as well as joined James H Morton Young Adult Chorale . Tariq then started working on his next album titled Qy Yet Storm due to be released May 29,2009. Tariq produced all songs with the exception of three and all songs were written by Mr. Combs with the exception of one song. While living in Atlanta he was able to work with Mr. Tyler Perry in the movie "Meet The Browns", as an extra as well as casted as an extra in a episode of" House of Payne"Tariq has relocated back to Houston, TX and has joined the recording gospel choir, Carnel Davis Jr. and ITP. Tariq has as well established his own publishing company "Smooth Lyrics Publishing" and production company "Qy Yet Storm Production". Mr. Combs has written over 225 songs and the list is climbing.
