The German violinist and conductor, Julia Schröder, was born into a musical family in southern Germany. At 5 years old she received her first violin lessons from her father. She soon won 1st prizes at the competition " Jugend musiziert" in chamber music and violin solo. At 15, she entered the Conservatoire "Gasteig" in Munich, where she studied as a young student with Urs Stieler. There followed by several master-classes, inter alia, with Ana Chumachenko, Melos Quartet, Lorand Fenyves, Saschko Gawrilof and Adelina Oprean (the latter since 1999 in Basel).
