The South African music industry is getting ready to witness the coming of age of the amazing singing and song writing talents of an explosive R&B dynamo simply called Lungi. Influenced by the music on South African radio that she was compelled to listen to growing up, it created a life long passion for music which Lungi has put into a musical beat of her own. Lungi’s first single “I Will” is the fore runner of an album of songs destined to challenge the South African musical landscape. Born out of her own personal experiences “I Will" is a song of hope and love which Lungi wrote and dedicates to all of those who are diagnosed with terminal illnesses and their loved ones who suffer through their ordeals with them. Particularly because of HIV/Aids, we find that so many people are going through the process of watching loved ones pass away. The song is about giving hope to those who are ill, through the love and friendship of those around them. With the advances in technology and your faith, no matter what religion you belong to, most diseases can be beaten, including HIV and Aids. With her pure and hauntingly beautiful vocals which are sung over a melange of harmonies her song is the type that touches the soul. Music for Lungi’s is produced by Alexis Faku, the renowned producer who has worked with and produced a number of hits for the cream of local artists such as Hugh Masekela, Judith Sepuma, Danny K , Jae, Loyiso, TK, Lebo Mathosa and Denim, just to name a few. Her live performances are supported by a seven piece live band comprising of the most talented musicians in the country. In addition she has her own stable of dancers as well as a professional road manager to handle her affairs whilst touring. Even though Lungi is Proudly South African this songstress is setting her sights beyond the impressive local music industry and plans are well in advance for an international release. Fuelled with will power and creative music flair Lungi says “I Will”, become one of South Africa’s greatest exports…
