Violinist, Artistic Director, Concertmaster, Eric Wyrick has worn many leadership hats as a member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, with whom he has performed internationally since 1986. Wyrick is currently the Concertmaster of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. 　　Born in New York City, Wyrick started playing the violin at 4 and began studying at The Juilliard School with Dorothy DeLay at 6. His professional orchestral career began with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic at age 14. As an undergrad he was appointed concertmaster of the Christmas String Seminar under the direction of Alexander Schneider. 　　Wyrick has held concertmaster positions with the American Symphony Orchestra, the Bard Festival Orchestra, EOS and L’Opera Fran?ais New York. He has been guest concertmaster with the Seattle Symphony, Orchestra of St. Lukes and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. 　　In addition to annual New Jersey Symphony solo appearances, Wyrick has appeared as a soloist with Danish Radio Orchestra, Orchestre de Toulouse, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, as well as solo television appearances in the American Playhouse production of Andre’s Mother, in the Dance in America presentation of Chausson’s Poème for American Ballet Theater on PBS, and as a featured soloist in the BBC’s “Great Composers” series playing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. He has collaborated as soloist with Neeme Jaarvi, Jacques Lacombe, Zdenic Macal, Michel Plasson, Gunther Schuller and, with Andrew Constantine will be performing with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in March of 2016. 　　An active chamber musician, Wyrick can be heard frequently with the NJSO Chamber Players and, as he comes from a large family of musicians, performs regularly with the Wyrick Chamber Players.
