Berget Lewis ( Amsterdam , October 24, 1971 ) is a Dutch singer. In addition, she is a member of the occasion of Ladies and Soul . 　　She was born in Amsterdam from Surinamese parents. At a young age, she started as a capella singer and she went on tour through the United States in 1986 with a gospel choir . Lewis began her professional vocal career as Total Touch singer and was part of Candy Dulfers Funky Stuff and Ruth Jacott 's band . Later she performed in the theatrical show of Angela Groothuizen and Julya Lo'ko (2004) and the Christmas show of Karin Bloemen . In 1998 she founded The Berget Lewis Gospel Train. In 2003, she, as a duo Lewis & Simon, had the song Let's give it a tryparticipated in the 2003 National Song Contest . With Edwin Evers , Lewis won the " Just the Two of Us" program in 2007 and together they performed during the De Toppers concert in the Amsterdam ArenA . After releasing the single It Do not Matter , from the movie Bolletjes Blues , her first album finally released in 2007. She has also performed for Queen Beatrix at the opening of the Betuwe freight line. On May 26, 2008 she was a guest artist during Together with Dré in concert in the ArenA. On April 5, 2012 she had together with Danny de Munkthe lead in the live show The Passion in Rotterdam. They interpreted the role of Mary . 　　Lewis joined the TROS program in 2012 The best singers in the Netherlands . In the final, she received all the votes except her own, and was therefore in the first place. On November 4, 2013, her second studio album, named after herself, was available on iTunes. In 2014 she plays the role of 'Effie White' in the musical Dreamgirls .　 　　She has launched the first three singles of happy hardcore formation Lipstick . 　　Lewis participated in The X Factor in the UK in 2017 with a performance of Prince Purple Rain . She was hit by the first audition probe and the Bootcamp , but during the Judges Houses round she received a black-out while singing the song Clarity . Lewis later told Judge Nicole Scherzinger that she had to go home. She would not get the live shows.
