By 1998, Tom recorded his first album, “Treasure The Gift.” Shortly after he moved to Los Angeles and began performing at venues all over the city. The locals began to take notice and soon he found himself performing as J.J. Abrams' private pianist, and alongside Grammy nominated artist Jim Brickman on tour, as well as producing and arranging for him. Tom's arrangements can be heard on a vast array of Jim's albums, including “Beautiful World” and the holiday album “Joy”.
