Roland Powell (born June 12, 1977), better known by his stage name Lil Duval, is an American stand-up comedian. In 2005, he was a finalist on BET's comedy competition series Coming to the Stage. Duval is a series regular to the MTV2 shows Guy Code and Hip Hop Squares. From 2013 to 2014 he hosted the video show Ain't That America on MTV2. 　　Roland Powell was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He adopted the stage name "Lil Duval" to pay homage to his birthplace, Duval County, Florida. After dropping out from First Coast High School, Powell relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Atlanta, Powell started working in the comedic circles, performing stand-up at the Atlanta staple, Uptown Comedy Corner, which led him to become a regular performer. 　　After performing at the Oakland Bay Area Competition in 2001, Powell was approached by Cedric the Entertainer's road manager and was invited to perform on the Budweiser tour featuring Cedric and four additional comedians. Powell was then invited by Cedric to perform on his television special Cedric the Entertainer: Starting Lineup. 　　In 2003, he released the underground comedy DVD Dat Boy Funny, which also featured several upcoming comedians featuring colorful sketch pieces and parodies mocking events in pop culture. The following year, Powell became a regular featured performer on three seasons of BET’s ComicView. Powell released his second DVD Put Your Hands on Me in 2005. That same year he appeared in Three 6 Mafia's independent film, Choices II: The Setup, as well as being featured on various skits of the film's soundtrack. 　　Duval starred as "Bam-Bam" in the comedy-drama film, School Dance. 　　Duval started the Twitter tag #itaintrape.[citation needed] In 2010, Duval tweeted: “#itaintrape if u naked of Yo Twitter profile pic”, “#itaintrape if I’m paying child support”, “Lmao RT @MrCashFanatic: @lilduval #itaintrape if she doesn’t remember it.” 　　Duval uses the catchphrase "Wat Dat Mouf Do?".[citation needed] He released his first solo single and music video on April 1, 2014 entitled "Wat Dat Mouf Do?" featuring Trae tha Truth. 　　In July 2017, Duval joked on The Breakfast Club radio show about killing a sex partner if she turned out to be a transgender woman. Host Charlamagne Tha God, while noting that killing a trans person was a hate crime, stated that women not disclosing their trans status were "taking away a person's power of choice" and "should go to jail or something". In response, trans activists, including Raquel Willis and Elle Hearns, called for the show to be boycotted or cancelled.
