Marco Caricola is an Italian composer based in London, UK. His music has been featured in a number of independent films and contemporary dance productions.
Born in the city of Bari, a stone’s throw away from the Adriatic Sea, 25-years old composer Marco Caricola has been perpetually exploring his musicality in a life journey that took him from his hometown to London, where he resides since early 2013. Since moving to the UK capital, Marco has been regularly contributing music to a wide number of visual projects. His waving blend of soft piano patterns, chamber strings and textural electronics has found shores going from short films to contemporary dance pieces. While prompting increasing commissions, Caricola’s soundtracks have been presented and praised by renowned organisations such as British Film Institute, Los Angeles CineFest and Toronto Short Film Festival. The album ‘Innerfin’ (2016), released by 1631 Recordings, presents a selection of these works and other original compositions. The vast majority of the songs was recorded in Marco’s East London flat, blending intimate room tones with expansive ambient soundscapes.
