Formed in 2007, Hyperion originally started as a melodic death metal band with guitarist Erik Molnar, singer Erik Thorell, bassist August Bengtsson, and later Anders Peterson on drums as the first line-up. In 2010, the band started to change their musical direction towards more of an intense, darker sound, while preserving the melodic essence in which the band had from the beginning. Releasing the ''Blood of the Ancient'' demo the same year, the band had finally a demo that projected the bands potential and their new approach for faster and intense style of music. Since their demo release, the band had been working on several new songs for their debut album. After countless live show's in underground Stockholm and self-promotions the band was ready to start their recording for their upcoming release, which ended up in a period between 2013-2015. The bands debut album is currently being mixed & mastered by Sverker Widgren from Wing Studios in Stockholm.
