Born and raised in Norwalk, California, rapper Lil Cuete has released numerous albums based around the Surenos and other elements of Los Angeles gang culture. He debuted in 2002 with There's Only One Way About It and the track "Soldier Ready for Death," and in 2004, he returned with the sophomore LP The Unforgettable. 2005's Walk with Me found veteran MC Mr. Capone-E on the guest list, while the 2006 release The #1 Gun featured Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Mr. Criminal and Fingaz made numerous appearances on his 2008 album, Still Walkin', then the gang took a back seat for 2009's romantically themed collection Love Jamz. The mixtape Dia de Los Muertos Mix and the album The One and Only both appeared in 2010, then Stay Out My Way landed in 2011 with "I Still Pack Guns" on the track list. Love Jamz, Vol. 2 followed in 2012 along with the more gang-oriented album Gunplay, then the 2013 collection Rider Classics rounded up street hits like "So You Wanna Be a Gangsta," "Die Tonite," and "Bullet Holes." Do It Right was released that same year, then the album Young OG dropped in 2016 with a guest appearance from Baby Bash. All of Cuete's albums were released by East Side Records. ~ David Jeffries
