At a time where most artists start their career releasing tracks on minor labels, Luke Bond has done quite the opposite. Within 12 months, the UK based producer and DJ has already notched up 12 huge releases on labels such as Future Sound of Egypt, Garuda and AVA recordings gaining support in practically every corner of world. Emerging through the thick clouds of new industry talent, Luke’s production sound of warm melodic journey-leading riffs blend seamlessly in to well-crafted progressive base lines and razor sharp percussion. In the flash of an eye, Luke leaped straight in to land he had no right to be, debuting his first release on Armada’s uplifting heavyweight label ‘Future Sound of Egypt’. ‘Atlantis’, co-written with neighbours ‘Neptune Project’ produces huge rushes of blood pumping adrenaline, with a drifting sun drenched melody layered over prominent acid stabs. Supported live by the likes of Aly and Fila, Armin Van Buuren and Simon Patterson, Luke’s name was instantly added to musical ammunition of the world’s elite. With F.S.O.E demanding more, ‘Amaze’, featuring the vocals of Emel quickly followed. An exotic, well harmonised, feel-good track combines powerful yet soothing vocals that take you on a long journey of good memories. Within just a few days of its release, the world’s number 1 DJ Armin Van Buuren, crowned it ‘Track of the week’ on A State of Trance radio 535, something only a few of even the most established artists have achieved to date. It was arguably ‘The Other Side’ featuring Mark Fisch that planted Luke’s imprint on the scene. Becoming an instant anthem in its own right, it became hard to forget the catchy melody and well written lyrics. Not only did the track get signed to iconic ‘Garuda’ records, but label boss Gareth Emery – the 7th biggest DJ in the world at the time - played it live in every single one of his sets for six months in a row. From Toyko to New York, ‘The Other Side’ not only rippled through the ears of tens of 1000s of clubbers but clocked up a phenomenal 145,000 views on Youtube, making it one of Garuda’s most watched videos and reaching the dizzy heights of Tags – 6 in the Beatport Trance charts. ‘Monster Tunes’ were next up with a double helping of ‘Dropzone’ and ‘4 days out’ slotting in to their release catalogue. The label described the former as “infectious, gliding through trance sub genres with consummate ease. The seamless combination of raucous bass lines, snappy percussion, and one melodic sky high drop will surely see this as a mainstay for the trance 2.0 elite!” The latter, was labelled ‘as “a combination of gritty, snarling bass lines with epic trance chords this track has a fine balance of dark and light elements”. Withthe tracks being played on radio shows such as Van Buuren ‘s ‘A State of Trance, Paul Van Dyk’s ‘Voync Sessions’ and Protoculture’s ‘Natural Selection’, they were also heard in live sets by likes of W&W, Sied Van Riel and Gareth Emery. More recently, Andy Moor’s label ‘AVA’, an arm of Armada Records, have recruited Luke to their roster, signing a 2 track E.P containing ‘Superstar’ and ‘Hollywood’. Armada quoted - “It’s delights offer you a warm, proggy melody, trancy synths and a constant drive that does nothing but build and build as you follow its musical journey”. Support has flooded in from the likes of Andy Moor, W&W, Protoculture, Sied Van Riel, Max Graham and Lange proving once again that Luke’s productions are being recognised by the world’s elite right now. Whilst the originals have consistently flowed, it hasn’t stopped Luke being on remix duties. Tracks such as Ben Nicky – Gemini (Spinnin’), Marcos – Just a Day (Boarderline) and Gary Heaney – Oracle (Armada) have all helped strengthen Luke’s production portfolio. With a forthcoming release on FSOE, Luke’s track has already been dropped to over 10,000 clubbers at the ASOT festival in Kuala Lumpar by none other than Aly and Fila, following Ben Gold earlier playing the first spin of his future release on Garuda. Expect his live DJ sets to be memorable journey of melodic waves and his productions continue to include progressive, innovative sounds. With the world’s eyes on Luke’s music, and consistent support this is one name that is set to appear in gigs and playlists in every corner of the Trance universe.
