Los íberos was a pop music group founded by Enrique Lozano (Malaga 1940-2016) famous for its exceptional live and show, for its appearances in “Escala Hi-Fi”, a program from Televisión Española; and above all, for having recorded a LP in London at Chapell and Decca Studios under Columbia Records. 　　The band’s musical career began in Torremolinos and it reached its peak with Columbia Records after the famous concert in Caravelle where Los bravos suffered the fervor of the fans of Los íberos. They recorded a single album, Los Iberos 1969 Columbia, but they left for posterity many songs that were considered to be real hits. 　　“Summertime girl”, “Las tres de la noche”, “Hiding behind my smile” and “Corto y ancho” among others made his fans in Spain and abroad delighted, because “Los íberos” was an international band with its heart set on England. They appeared in films such as “Un, dos, tres… al escondite inglés” from Ivan Zulueta and “Topycal Spanish” from Lluis Bassat (the latter was censored by the Government). An accident cut short the evolution of the band. In the accident, the van driver died and Enrique suffered head injuries that caused lifelong physical and psychological sequelae. Subsequently, Enrique’s wife returned to her home country, United States, and his daughter died in a traffic accident, leaving the leader of Los Iberos plunged into severe depression. 　　The band didn’t survive after the definitive leave of Enrique Lozano, alma mater of the band. 　　Misfortune did not end with the band’s accident, the filmed material of the band from Television Española was lost when one of its buildings caught fire. 　　The band’s leader died in January 3, 2017. The music group had remained in oblivion for many years, but now it is resurging thanks to the social media.
