Born in 1980, Jonas Vitaud began playing the piano at 6 and the organ at 11. Trained by Brigitte Engerer, Jean Koerner and Christian Ivaldi, he obtained four first prizes at the Paris Conservatoire (piano, chamber music, piano accompaniment, harmony).
Winner of several international competitions both as a soloist and chamber musician (Lyon, ARD Munich, Trieste, Beethoven Vienna), Jonas Vitaud performs in prestigious festivals: Roque d'Anthéron, Lille Piano (s) Festival, Piano Jacobins , Easter in Deauville, Crazy day of Nantes Tokyo Ekaterinburg and Warsaw, Festival of the God Chair, Chopin Festival of Bagatelle, Richard Strauss Festival in Germany, Musical Autumn of Caserta in Italy, iDans of Istanbul, Summer Festival of Dubrovnik, French May in Hong Kong, Phillips collection in Washington.
He plays in all Europe but also in Russia, Iran, China, Turkey, Japan, United States.
Jonas Vitaud performs with orchestras such as Mulhouse, Cannes, Toulouse, the Savoyard Orchestra, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Prague Radio.
He reserves a privileged place for chamber music and plays with artists such as sopranos Karine Deshayes, Sumi Hwang and Yumiko Tanimura, cellists Victor Julien-Laferrière and Christian-Pierre La Marca, violist Adrien La Marca, pianist Adam Laloum, the clarinettist Raphaël Sévère, the violinist Mi-Sa Yang, the Zaïde Quartet.
Fascinated by current music, Jonas Vitaud has worked with masters of creation such as Henri Dutilleux, Thierry Escaich, György Kurtag, Philippe Hersant, Yann Robin ... These meetings, especially at the Musique sur Ciel de Cordes festival, were an opportunity to confront the variety of current musical currents and to develop his musical imagination.
In 2019 MIRARE and ALPHA CLASSICS will release two albums, one with violinist Mi-Sa Yang devoted to MOZART sonatas and the other to Russian repertoire with cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière.
In 2018, for the centenary Debussy, Jonas Vitaud released a double album with the MIRARE label dedicated to the composer's early years, an original and ambitious production presenting unknown aspects of the Debussy universe. He will give many tribute concerts. In March 2016, Jonas Vitaud presents a Tchaikovsky record at MIRARE - Les Saisons and the Grande Sonate opus 37, which gets 5 of Diapason.
