The McKean Sisters,An Australian country duo. 　　Heather McKean and sister Joy McKean are pioneers of Australian country music. 　　Both are singer songwriters and first became part of the duo "The McKean Sisters".They both in time had individual careers. In the case of Joy, she became one of Australian lead award winning songwriters. Heather became an award winning recording artist.Both growing up in a musical family the girls were performing on stage at the age of ten and eight. 　　In 1949 they had their own radio show on 2KY in Sydney.By 1951 they were recording for "Rodeo Records".Recorded hit songs came along such as - The Gymkhana Yodel - Yodel Down The Valley - The Morning Mail etc.Inducted into the "Country Music Roll of Renown" 　　Joy started writing for Slim Dusty and they would end up being husband and wife for over fifty years together.
