Son of Albert Klinko, former principal French horn in Toscanini's NBC Symphony in the Air, Klinko was born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1961, and studied harp at the Zurich Conservatory and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. His prinicpal teachers were Pierre Jamet and Lily Laskine.
