Julian Fernando Casablancas (born August 23, 1978) is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of American rock band The Strokes.
In 2009, Casablancas released a solo album, Phrazes for the Young, and in 2013 he formed experimental rock outfit Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, now known simply as The Voidz, with whom he has released two albums: Tyranny (2014) and Virtue (2018).
Also in 2009, Casablancas founded independent record label Cult Records,[1] which currently represents artists such as The Growlers, Rey Pila, and Karen O.
