Simone del Savio was born in Susa (Italy) and studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin. In 2005, he won the Toti dal Monte International Singing Competition and the Riccardo Zandonai Prize. In 2007, in Austria, he received the Eberhard Wächter Medal as best young singer of the 2006 / 2007 season. He made his debut in 1998 in Salieri’s Prima la musica e poi le parole. Since then, he has performed numerous roles, including Don Profondo (Le Voyage à Reims) at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Malatesta (Don Pasquale) at the Teatro Comunale in Treviso, Alidoro (La Cenerentola) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, and Gulglielmo (Così fan tutte) in Saint Paul (USA) under the baton of conductor Roberto Abbado. After singing the role of Marcello (La Bohème) first at the Festival Luglio Musicale in Trapani, then at Bologna’s Teatro Comunale, then the Antwerp Opera and finally the Teatro Regio in Turin, he tackled the role of Leporello (Don Giovanni) at the Klagenfurt Opera, Venice’s La Fenice and the Toulon Opera.
