Simone del Savio was born in Susa (Italy) and studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin. In 2005, he won the Toti dal Monte International Singing Competition and the Riccardo Zandonai Prize. In 2007, in Austria, he received the Eberhard Wächter Medal as best young singer of the 2006 /  2007 season. He made his debut in 1998 in Salieri’s Prima la musica e poi le parole. Since then, he has performed numerous roles, including Don Profondo (Le Voyage à Reims) at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Malatesta (Don Pasquale) at the Teatro Comunale in Treviso, Alidoro (La Cenerentola) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, and Gulglielmo (Così fan tutte) in Saint Paul (USA) under the baton of conductor Roberto Abbado. After singing the role of Marcello (La Bohème) first at the Festival Luglio Musicale in Trapani, then at Bologna’s Teatro Comunale, then the Antwerp Opera and finally the Teatro Regio in Turin, he tackled the role of Leporello (Don Giovanni) at the Klagenfurt Opera, Venice’s La Fenice and the Toulon Opera.   He has also performed the roles of Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and Don Alvaro (Le Voyage à Reims) at Milan’s La Scala, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna and the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Alfonso (Lucrezia Borgia), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Orbazzano (Tancredi) and Dulcamara at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Montano (Otello) at the Salzburg Festival with Riccardo Muti conducting, Riccardo (I Puritani) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and the Teatro Regio inTurin, Schaunard (La Bohème) at London’s Covent Garden, the Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Savonlinna Festival (2016), Sharpless (Madame Butterfly) at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and the Teatro Comunale in Sassari, Germont (La Traviata) at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Grand Théâtre in Geneva and the Teatro Comunale in Sassari, Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) and Ping (Turandot) at the Rome Opera, Monterone (Rigoletto) and Schaunard (La Bohème) at the Paris Opera, le Dancaïre (Carmen) at the Salzburg Festival and the Berlin Philharmonie, the title role in Don Pasquale at the Centre Lyrique Clermont Auvergne, the Limoges Opera, the Reims Opera, the Rouen Opera, the Vichy Opera, the Massy Opera, and the Avignon Opera.
